New House Hotel Wedding Photographer Cardiff – Tom & Rachel

Rach and Tom’s wedding at New House Hotel Cardiff, Thornhill was one of those days that felt completely effortless from start to finish. As a New House Hotel wedding photographer Cardiff, these are the weddings you love to capture – relaxed, natural, and full of genuine moments.

Set overlooking Cardiff with incredible panoramic views, New House Hotel is one of the most popular wedding venues in South Wales, and this day showed exactly why.

Wedding Ceremony at New House Hotel Cardiff

The day began with a calm, relaxed atmosphere in the bridal suite. I arrived just before the ceremony, capturing some final prep moments before heading into the marquee for the ceremony.

The ceremony itself took place at 1:30pm, set inside the marquee, creating a light, airy space that felt both intimate and spacious. Everything flowed seamlessly, allowing me to capture natural moments without interruption.

Drinks Reception with Views Across Cardiff

Following the ceremony, guests moved outside to enjoy drinks under the pergola, taking in the stunning views across Cardiff. This part of the day is always perfect for relaxed, candid photography – real laughter, conversations, and those in-between moments that tell the story of the day.

We also captured group photos during this time, including family combinations, friends, and a full group shot – all organised smoothly to keep things flowing without taking couples away from their guests for too long.

Wedding Breakfast, Speeches & A Unique Twist

The wedding breakfast took place back inside the marquee, followed by speeches – and a quiz, which was such a fun and unique addition. It added something different to the day and kept guests fully engaged, creating brilliant reactions and moments to photograph.

Couple Portraits at Caerphilly Castle

One of the highlights of the day was heading to Caerphilly Castle for couple portraits. Taking a short amount of time away from the venue allowed us to create something completely different, using the dramatic backdrop of the castle.

This mix of locations always adds variety to a wedding gallery – combining the elegance of the venue with something more bold and iconic.

Evening Celebrations & First Dance

Back at New House Hotel, the evening celebrations were in full swing. Rach and Tom added an extra hour of coverage, which meant I was able to capture their first dance – always one of the most memorable moments of the day.

Smoke grenades made an appearance during the evening portraits, adding a creative edge and bringing something different to their final gallery.

Natural Wedding Photography – New House Hotel wedding photographer Cardiff

Rach looked incredible in her dress from Bridal Reloved Cardiff, Dinas Powys, and together they were completely natural in front of the camera. Their relaxed energy made it easy to document the day as it truly happened.

Hair and makeup by Wishbone & Comb Hair & Makeup gave a polished but natural look that photographed beautifully throughout the day.

Every detail came together perfectly, including the cake by Onecake Ortwo, decor by michelle_partydecor, and live music from harpist Megan Morris.
